‘Cryotherapy’ freezing treatment may help heal injuries

When patients are recovering from joint and tissue inflammation due to injury or subsequent surgery, ice therapy is often recommended. It can be very helpful. However extreme cold cryotherapy, though increasingly popular among celebrities and elite athletes, is not necessarily the answer. Though sometimes effective, there are also real dangers inherent in its use. Consult with a healthcare provider before trying fancy devices, and proceed with caution if you have any health conditions.
